Beers Diamond Route.
ABOUT VENETIA LIMPOPO NATURE RESERVE
Set in the Limpopo valley amidst rugged sandstone
cliffs and ancient baobabs, the 36 000 hectare De Beers’
Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve is a piece of old Africa.
Just 80km from Musina in Limpopo Province, the reserve
is adjacent to and forms part of Mapungubwe National
Park – site of southern Africa’s first kingdom.
A World Heritage Site, Mapungubwe is also part of the
Limpopo-Shashe Transfrontier Conservation Area.
Venetia is well loved for its wildlife which include
Black and White Rhino, Elephant, Lion and African wild
dog. The birdlife is spectacular and include birds like
the Pel’s Fishing Owl and Senegal Coucal.
ACCOMMODATION
A maximum of 17 guests (sharing) can be accommodated.
- 3 luxury air-conditioned chalets with en-suite
facilities - 10 persons
- 3 separate double rooms with air conditioners, electric
fans, accommodating a maximum of 7 additional persons
- Laundry service is provided

- Fully equipped kitchen
- Open dining / recreation area under thatch
- Adjacent bar area
- Camp fire / braai patio
- Guests may self-cater
- If preferred, experienced catering staff will be
engaged to attend to their every culinary need

WILDLIFE
& NATURE
The abundant wildlife includes lion, elephant, black
and white rhino and elusive African Wild dog. Radio
tracking (telemetry) trips are offered for both wild
dogs and lion, which substantially increases the chance
of seeing these sought after species.
BIRDING
Birding is especially good in the area with over 400
bird species being recorded and amongst others include
the following species:
- Pel's Fishing Owl
- Three-banded courser
- Pennant-winged Nightjar
- Meyer's Parrot
- Meves's Starling
- Senegal Coucal
- Thick-billed Cuckoo
- Tropical Boubou.
