- Each room differs in size and design and offers
en-suite bathroom, hot and cold air-conditioning,
satellite TV, telephone, courtesy fridge and safe
- All our rooms are beach facing, with double doors
opening on to the endemic fynbos garden and dunes
- From the double doors the beach flows into the
sea. The lapping waves soothe the soul
- Watch the Whales from your bedroom and the rare
African Black Oystercatcher feeding on the beach
- There is an outside pool, finished in natural
rock, with two outside hot and cold showers
- The fireplace in the lounge and under-floor heating
makes watching winter storms from the Beach House
a lot of fun. The crackling log fire provides the
perfect background for the crashing waves on the
beach while savouring a glass of Cape Sherry
- Enjoy yourself in a special environment with the
dunes, the beach, the ocean & the sky, right
on your doorstep
- Kilometres of un-crowded pristine beach stretches
from the front patio.

and local availability. Your chef will spoil you
with the best in Cape Cuisine, always sourcing the
freshest produce and cooking with love and care.
The Beach House Dinning Room not only has a set menu
but you are free to ask the chef for your favourite
meal!

Breakfast
- Sunset Beach Guest House offers a full buffet
breakfast: fruit cocktail; fresh fruit; yoghourt,
cereal, muesli, variety of fruit juices, freshly
baked muffins, cheeses, grilled mushrooms, fried
tomatoes, grilled sausages, fried bacon and eggs
to your order
Picnic
- Sandwiches, salads, quiches and comprehensive picnic
baskets are available on request. Rolls, croissants,
assorted crackers, assorted cold meats, mixed cheeses,
assorted fresh fruit, fruit juice, droë wors
(dried sausage), small chicken salad, packet potato
crisps, dinky wine, paper plate, plastic knife/ fork/
spoon, paper serviettes make up the basket.
Lunch
- Enjoy your summer sea-food lunch in the cooled
dining room. Lunch include dishes like grilled calamari,
Norwegian Salmon salad, savoury rice; French; Greek;
Roquefort and 1000 Islands Salads as well Chicken
and Norwegian Smoked Salmon salads amongst others
Meals for lunch and dinner
- A variety of soups are served at the Beach House,
the pea and ham soup and Thai prawn soup are favourites.
For hot summer days an Avocado Ritz is delightful.
Fresh baby calamari grilled in olive oil with lemon
juice and spices is always a welcome treat. The chicken
liver peri-peri is pan fried with garlic, lemon and
a blend of brilliant spices. Our steaks are masterpieces:
Grilled Rump, Old Man’s Steak with mustard
and brandy, Hollandse Biefstuk and what has been
called "the best Pepper Steak in Africa"!
- Lamb Chops a' la' Orange are grilled lamb chops,
brushed with orange marmalade, sherry and garlic
sauce is a must if you enjoy lamb. Glazed with Dijon
mustard, apricot and soy sauce the Apricot Glazed
Chicken Breasts is a succulent feast
- Enjoy fresh seafood - line fish, Cape lobster,
grilled calamari, sole, or share a sea food platter
with your partner
Pudding
- The perfect ending to a lovely meal, choose from:
Strawberries Romanoff (fresh strawberries soaked
in port and served with chantilly cream), Vanilla
Ice Cream with Hot Brandied Black Cherries, Italian
Cassata with Kahlua or Cinnamon Apricots in Cream
Wines
- The Western Cape produces many of the world’s
most excellent wines. Our wines are carefully selected
to ensure that your experience is the best that the
Cape Winelands can offer. We recommend a variety
of excellent white wines and red wines. Examples
of white wines are Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc
and Hamilton Russel Chardonnay. The red wines include
Zonnebloem Pinotage, Meerlust Merlot, Hamilton Russel
Vineyard Pinot Noir, Zonnebloem Cabernet Sauvignon,
or Vergelegen Cabernet Sauvignon.

Birdwatching
- The area offers some of the best seabird watching
in Southern Africa! But the birdwatching experience
starts at the Beach House itself. Watch the endangered
African Black oystercatcher on the beach from your
bedroom while the Crowned Plover and Hadeda Ibises
feed on the dunes. The agile Hartlaub's Gulls found
only in the Cape and the more widespread Kelp Gulls
frequent the beach while African Penguins, Terns,
Cape Gannets, White Chinned Petrels and Sooty Shearwaters
are frequent visitors.
EXPLORE THE REGION
- Isolated by majestic mountains, Kommetjie is delightfully
rural and unspoiled. Although being conveniently
close to Cape Town, the atmosphere of Kommetjie,
even in peak season when holiday resorts are bustling,
is one of peaceful isolation
- Despite Kommetjie's isolation, the Victoria and
Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town International Airport,
the Cape Wine lands and historic Stellenbosch are

of Kommetjie, the drive promises to be a scenic delight
- Across "Ou Kaapse Weg" one approaches
Kommetjie via the Silvermine Nature Reserve and has
the panoramic view first of False Bay and the Cape
Flats and then of Long Beach and the Llandudno mountain
range
- From Hout Bay Chapman's Peak Drive curves along
the Mountain edge and provides a dramatic visual
display of mountain and sea where every corner offers
a new surprise of contrasts
- From Muizenberg one travels along the jagged coastline
through the delightful towns of Kalk Bay and Fishhoek
with a glimpse of Simon's Town. This is the drive
called the Cape Peninsula Scenic Route
