ABOUT NTOMENI CAMP

Ntomeni Camp is self-catering and is situated in the 42 000 ha provincial park of Letaba Ranch, which shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park about 10 km north of Phalaborwa.

Located on the banks of the Great Letaba River, Ntomeni is an idyllic bush retreat where Hippos and Crocodiles keep a watchful eye on the activities in camp!

Ntomeni offers the visitor a true African experience including the Big Five and while Letaba Ranch is best renowned for large herds of Buffalo and Elephant, Lion is often heard at night.

THINGS TO DO

Due to the rudimentary nature of the vast road network and roads often found obstructed by trees being pushed over by elephants, self-driving in Letaba Ranch is confined to a main road artery along the Groot Letaba River up to the Kruger National Park boundary and from the north to the south. A game drive with the African Ivory Route Field Guides will however ensure an intimate trouble free and rewarding experience.

Typical activities whilst staying at Ntomeni Camp

  • For the adventurous, guided game walks on the banks of the Great Letaba in the early morning hours provide plenty of exciting moments tracing the spoor of the dangerous Big Five
  • Game drives in the open vehicles around the reserve ensure excellent game viewing
  • Night drives expose the nocturnal activities of the bush as interpreted and explained by the qualified guides
  • A favourite pastime at Ntomeni involves sitting at the main lapa or on your private deck, watching Elephants come down to drink at the river
  • A guided visit to the dam in the South of the reserve, in search of the ever-present herds of Elephant & Buffalo, is highly recommended
  • Birding is excellent in the area
