LOCATIONMutale Falls Camp is part of the African Ivory Route and situated in the northern part of Limpopo Province. Mutale Falls is located near Pafuri, in Makuya Nature Reserve which shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. Due to the rugged terrain, it is a 4 x 4 destination and thus the use of a 4 wheel drive vehicle (4 x 4), or at least one with good ground clearance, is recommended for visiting this park and for reaching Mutale Falls Camp, which is approximately 16 km. from the main entrance gate of the park. GPS Coordinates: ACCOMMODATION5 x Safari tents are en-suite with shower, basin and enviro-toilet and each is equipped with two beds and mattresses. A communal kitchen with basic facilities, including a gas stove, fridge, plates and mugs, chairs, tables and eating utensils are provided. Staff members will be on hand to assist visitors. Both the central kitchen/dining facility and braai area as well as all of the sleeping tents afford exquisite views over the river and surrounding bush land. Note! This 18 000 ha provincial park with its rugged baobab dotted landscape, river gorges and weathered sandstone ridges has a very distinct wilderness character and particularly appeals to those who like it really wild. Perched on a high cliff, Mutale Falls Camp overlooks the Mutale river which transects the northern part of the Makuya Park (Nature Reserve). ABOUT THE AFRICAN IVORY ROUTEThe African Ivory Route in the Limpopo Province has its origins in the legendary exploits of early ivory hunters and gold traders. Thus the African Ivory Route was established with the adventure traveller in mind.
