Maqueda Lodge (4 Star graded) offers luxury accommodation
in style and comfort.
Maqueda Lodge allows you to be absorbed by the peace
and tranquility of the African Bush, while enjoying
high standards of comfort and service. Surrounded by
the bush, you can relax on wooden decks or cool down
in splash pools, enjoying a refreshing drink. Expect
to have all kinds of wildlife "visitors" during
your stay, as an abundance of wild animals roam freely
amongst the premises.

There are more than 300 species of birds and abundant
wildlife in a Nature Conservation area (1500ha) that
shares a ± 17km border (the Crocodile River)
with the Kruger National Park.
The nearest entrance gate to the Kruger National Park
is at Crocodile Bridge, 20km from Maqueda Lodge.
We are ideally situated en route to Maputo, Mozambique
- Between Malelane and Komatipoort, only a short distance
away from the border.
We arrange transfers to and from Nelspruit airport.

CUISINE
At Maqueda Lodge we pride ourselves on the quality
of presentation and we use local products to prepare
meals for your delight.
Our freshly prepared English-Continental breakfast
is prepared to the highest standards.
Fruit juices are prepared every morning and only include
the finest local fruit. But then after your Continental
Breakfast we will serve the English Breakfast, it is
pure joy........Enjoy your leisurely breakfast before
leaving on your next adventure.
For dinner we ensure the finest meat, local vegetables,
fresh "summer night punch" and delightful
desserts, while you select an exceptional wine from
our hand picked cellar.
We enjoy long evenings with fine food, good wine around
the open fire at Maqueda Lodge.
WILDLIFE
When you enter the Conservancy (5000 ha, a ±
17km bordering the Kruger National Park with the Crocodile
river as divide), you are in BIG 5 territory and here
are no fences that will separate you from the wild animals
walking right up to the lodge. In the winter months
the animals will even drink from the splash pools around
the lodge.
Bush babies at night, many antelope species by day
and watch the beautiful Purple Crested Louries eating
the Papaya from the trees, next to the main dining area.
Take a 10 minute stroll to the lookout point high above
the Crocodile river, where you are bound to see Lion
and Elephant in the riverbed. There you will also enjoy
some of the most spectacular sunsets in Africa.
