Our core concept is to offer guests the opportunity to take that much needed break from the hectic demands of today’s lifestyle. We offer you a place to give your overloaded senses a break, where you can still see sunrises, sunsets and stars. THINGS TO DOFishing Fishing (catch & release) - bring your own rod, tackle and bait. The fishing can be done from the comfort of your own private veranda or the dam wall. Bait fishing, artificial lure-fishing and fly fishing can be practiced, with tilapia making easy targets even for children and the black bass put up a magnificent fight for the more skilled fisherman (and woman) Game watching Several game species are found on the farm and guest are often entertained by animals coming to drink at the dam in the late afternoon, where they can be viewed from the luxury of the chalets' decks. Mountain biking & Canoeing Visitors are welcome to bring mountain bikes for the sandy roads and even canoes to play on the dam. More:
WILDLIFEA variety of game species occur on the farm including impala, giraffe, red hartebeest, zebra, blesbuck and warthog. In the late afternoons and evenings guests may see various game species come to drink in the flood-lit area next to the dam. BIRDLIFEBoth water and bushveld birds can be watched from the comfort of your chalet deck. More than 116 bird species have been recorded at Hanlin Lodge. Since we are only 30 km. from Nylsvley Nature Reserve a variety of bird species can be seen in the area.
