LOCATION
Elephants Drift game lodge accommodation in Greater
Kruger Park, Limpopo Province, offers spectacular guided
Big 5 game viewing in open vehicles or on foot in a
vast unfenced wilderness area which borders on the
Olifants River.
ABOUT ELEPHANTS DRIFT
Elephants Drift, a private game lodge in the Greater
Kruger Park area, which is a vast, unfenced and remote
wilderness, offers exclusive use of Main Camp and the
Parrot Tree Tented Camp.
The camp/s can be booked as a self-catering game lodge
or rooms individually booked for your fully-catered
Big 5 safari.
We offer spectacular Big 5 game viewing in open 4
x 4 landrovers or on foot.
The Goss family have owned this 3000 hectare (7500
acre) wildlife property in Limpopo Province, South
Africa, for two generations and over 25 years. We thus
have in depth and intimate knowledge of the area and
its longer term natural cycles.
The property's longest boundary is with the
Kruger National Park. Animals roam freely across this
entire unfenced area, effectively making Elephants
Drift part of one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries
in the world (but not subject to the many rules and
restrictions which need to be applied in the National
Park such as travelling off road, walking, and game
viewing after dark).
The area borders on the mighty Olifants River which
is a magnet to wildlife in the dry winter months and
the Klaserie River is also nearby. The wilderness is
also crossed by a number of beautiful dry river beds.
These flow as torrents during most rainy seasons and
(when dry!) are ideal shady routes for walking safaris;
the Parrot Tree Bush Camp overlooks a particularly
lovely one as does Elephants Drift Main Camp.
Hills, ridges and koppies (small rocky outcrops) are
also a feature of the wilderness; these provide panoramic
views, picnic and sundowner sites and are often good
vantage points for spotting game to be approached more
closely on foot or vehicle.
ACCOMMODATION
At Elephants Drift you are able to book exclusive use
of the whole camp for groups of 4 to10 people on either
a self-catering or fully-catered basis and at discounted
and affordable rates.
Individual rooms can also be booked on a full-board
basis for one or more people.
All options include 2 game drives or walks per day.
Please Note!
If you book the whole camp, both Main Camp and Parrot
Tree Tented Camp will be available for you and your
group’s exclusive use during your stay. You can
decide whether you wish to spend all your time at just
one of the camps or part of your time at each.
An option is also to do a day’s walking safari
to Parrot Tree Tented Camp through the wilderness hills
and along the riverbeds. You can spend a night or two
here and then walk back to Main Camp. Your personal
belongings will be transported by vehicle.
