It is an enchanting Game Lodge right on the banks of the Crocodile River, the southern border of the Kruger National Park. Guests staying with us have the opportunity of playing golf at Leopard Creek Country Club. It has luxury accommodation in ten double rooms, each with spacious en suite bathroom and all fully air-conditioned. The Lodge has a cozy bar, comfortable lounge and swimming pool. The Crocodile River at the bottom of the garden is frequented by wildlife like Elephant, buffalo, hippos, and many antelope amongst other animals and birds. Guests sitting on the verandah sipping sundowners or lazing around the pool have a wonder view of these fascinating animals when they come down to drink, while friendly staff cater to your every whim. Birding is excellent at Buhala, with over 200 species of birds recorded on the property. With a menu consisting of superb international cuisine and an extensive wine list, fine food and wines are served on the deck under candlelight and the whole atmosphere is one of casual elegance, great comfort and tranquillity. ACTIVITIESThere are golf and tennis nearby, a vast array of waterfalls and scenic attractions in the area, Mozambique and Swaziland within easy reach, while the Kruger National Park is only a few kilometers away. Enjoy big game viewing from the veranda, self-driven game drives, horseback safaris or guided safaris. Nature walks, birdwatching, koppie climbing, fishing and farm tours can all be arranged. | Explore the Area Buhala is also well-situated, from where the magical bushveld can easily be explored, which will give you the realization of true Africa. The Mpumalanga scenic route, called the Panorama Route, with its vast array of waterfalls, artists' villages, rock formations and more, to the Blyde River Canyon is a wonderful day trip. Mozambique and the Kingdom of Swaziland are both only an hour's drive from us. LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS TO BUHALAWe are located in Mpumalanga, fenced into the Kruger National Park just 12 kilometres from the Malelane Gate. Travelling on the N4 highway you would go through Nelspruit come to a village called Malelane. From Malelane village you continue on the N4 for another 12kms after which on the left you will see our large white gate posts clearly marked Buhala Country House, Buhala Game Lodge and Kenworthy Estate. Turn left through the gates, cross the railway line with care; continue for 2, 4 kilometres and you will arrive at BUHALA GAME LODGE, which has a common gate with the farm house. At this point you take the right hand fork to BUHALA and not the straight ahead road to the farm house. (You do not turn off the N4 until you see our large white gate posts on the left.)
