Morokolo Safari Lodge is a small luxury lodge situated in the Black Rhino Game Reserve, incorporated into Pilanesberg National Park.

Morokolo Safari Lodge, a luxury private lodge is set in Pilanesberg National Park (Black Rhino Game Reserve), about 2 ½ hours from Johannesburg.

The malaria free Black Rhino Game Reserve is a private reserve incorporated into the Big 5 Pilanesberg National Park, situated in North West Province.

Morokolo is the Setswana name for the indigenous Num-Num tree which can be found growing in and around the lodge.

The lodge is ideal for a couple looking for an exclusive, romantic, private safari or a full family getaway. It also caters for small conferences and company getaways.

ACCOMMODATION

This boutique, private luxury game lodge offers 8 luxury suites (6 double suites and 2 family suites)

Each suite has an ample en-suite bathroom with modern finishes (with bath and shower), a seating area and private patio. All the suites are fully air-conditioned.

Double Suite

The double suites consists of a spacious bedroom with king-size bed, lounge area with tea and coffee facilities and a fully-stocked minibar. The luxurious en-suite bathroom has a shower and large stone bath. Most of the suites have a large open outside shower under the African Sky.

Family Suites

Family Suites consists of an open-plan bedroom and seating area with loft. With a king-size bed in the bedroom and 2 single beds in the loft this is ideal for a family with two children. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, bath and double basin. In the seating area is a fully-stocked mini bar with tea and coffee facilities. Most of the suites have an open outside shower under the African Sky.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

The main lodge is laid out as an open-plan area with boardroom conference table which facilitates up to 12 delegates.

Conference package includes the availability of a data projector as well as tea and coffee, snacks, writing equipment and flip chart. To secure exclusive use of the conference area a reservation for 8 adults are required.

ACTIVITIES

On-site Activities at Morokolo SafariLodge:

The main entertainment area is open plan, and has a lounge with TV, DStv and DVD player, a beautiful bar area with pool table and various board games, and an outside patio area overlooking the swimming pool with a view of the Pilanesberg Mountains.
Morning and afternoon / evening game-drives in a 10-seater open game-viewing vehicle, accompanied by professional game rangers.
Bush walks accompanied by professional game rangers can be arranged.

SAFARI GAME VIEWING

Morokolo Safari Lodge is equipped with top-of the range 10-seater open-air private safari vehicles. Game drives are conducted by professional Field Guides and the game viewing takes place in the Black Rhino Game Reserve with full access to the Pilanesberg National Park.

CHILDREN

The rules governing game drives do not permit children under 6 on the game drives for their own safety. If you would like we can arrange a baby sitter to look after them at an hourly rate, and then in the morning after breakfast we take them out on their very own game drive for about 30 minutes to see what we can see at a safe distance. Children between 6 and 12 years are permitted to join the adult game drives at the ranger's discretion.

DINING

The communal area has barbecue (braai) facilities for social meals around the fire. The restaurant boasting excellent cuisine is situated close to the lodge.

WILDLIFE, BIRDLIFE & NATURE

The 'Big Five' roams free around Morokolo Game Lodge and the area boasts one of the richest varieties of African wildlife, predators, fauna & flora in Africa.

Not accessible to other visitors to Pilanesberg National Park, Buffalo regularly roam in this area as they take shelter in remote areas. The Black Rhino Reserve is home to the BIG 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, and White & Black Rhino) as well as cheetah and wild dog. Antelope species include Sable, Tsetsebe, Eland, Gemsbok and Springbok.

The Black Rhino Reserve is also a true birders paradise with a specie list of over 354 birds.
