Bakubung Bush Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park is a family friendly game lodge and offers safari game viewing drives amongst many other activities. With quality accommodation at affordable rates, it is ideal for a weekend break, family holiday or a corporate function.

This large malaria free game reserve is home to a wide variety of animals, including the Big 5. There is a wide range of activities available at the lodge, as well as at nearby Sun City.

Pilanesberg is approximately two hour's from Johannesburg by road and is in North West Province.

ACCOMMODATION

Bakubung Bush Lodge presents 76 rooms. All rooms, leading onto either a balcony or a patio, have panoramic views of the Park and the Hippo Pool.

Standard Rooms

The rooms consist of either two double beds, one king size bed or two queen size beds with a bath and separate shower.

Luxury Rooms

The rooms consist of one king size bed, bath, separate shower and lounge area.

Executive Suites

Spacious suites consist of one king size bed, bath, separate shower and lounge area.

Bakubung offers a range of conference facilities as well as state of the art equipment, accommodating 120 delegates.

It is also a preferred destination to host a number of functions including product launches, team-building exercises, meetings, seminars, cocktail receptions, weddings, banquets, birthdays, private dinners, and more.

CHILDREN

Children of all ages are welcome. In an effort to improve the experience of guests, Bakubung Bush Lodge has decided to accommodate children of all ages on game drives. Bakubung will allocate a vehicle specifically for families with young children, which shall leave slightly earlier than the regular game vehicle departure.

Junior Rangers programme is available for all children aged 6-12 years. Activities are geared around natural resource protection, environmental education and responsible recreation offering a special opportunity to explore the Pilanesberg National Park. The Junior Rangers Program is available at a small additional cost to parents and usually takes 2 days to complete. On completion of the program, children will be including in a graduation ceremony and will be given a certificate and badges for activities completed.

DINING

The Bakubung Restaurant offers mouth-watering breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant or outside deck.

Guests have an option to either enjoy the carvery in the main restaurant, or bush braai (barbecue) in the boma on Saturday and Wednesday evenings..

Friday night’s guests can look forward to an African themed spit braai (weather permitting).

WILDLIFE & BIRDLIFE

Pilanesberg National Park is a popular wildlife safari destination due to its wide range of wildlife and birdlife species.

The “Big 5” and various other mammal species, amongst other, Hippo, Rhino, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra, Kudu, Waterbuck, Impala and many more.

More than 350 bird species have been recorded in the area.

Bakubung is located in the Pilanesberg National Park, North West Province. It is approximately 2 hours' drive from Johannesburg and 15 minutes from Sun City.
