Tuningi Safari Lodge is a family friendly luxury lodge situated in the popular Big 5 Madikwe Game Reserve.
Tuningi Safari Lodge, located in Madikwe Game Reserve, is a superb five star lodge with friendly service and superior accommodation, in a relaxed atmosphere.
The lodge conducts early morning and late afternoon safari game drives in search of the Big 5 amongst other wildlife.
What makes this beautiful reserve in the North West Province even more attractive, is the fact that it is malaria-free and is only about four and a half hours drive from Johannesburg or an hour's flight.
ACCOMMODATION
Tuningi accommodates 16 persons in stylish free standing rooms that all have fireplaces, huge bathrooms, outside showers and fabulous wooden decks. The rooms are set far enough apart from each other to provide enough privacy with a sense of tranquility.
The family units consist of two double bedrooms with an adjoining living and dining area. The entire lodge has a Colonial African feel and is stylish and comfortable.
Luxury Suites
Guests are accommodated in four Luxury Suites (2 adults per suite), all connected by wooden walkways, but separated from the next providing peace and privacy.
Family Suite
There are two Family Suites, one at the Main Lodge and the second forms part of Little Tuningi. These Family Suites are not only perfect for families looking for extra space, but offer all the same comforts and finishes of the Luxury Suites. They are made-up of two en-suite double bedrooms, with pull-out couches, and are joined by a dining area, kitchenette and a living room with an expansive timber deck from where the surrounding beauty can be appreciated.
CHILDREN
Tuningi welcomes families with children of all ages and has children’s activities (educational and fun) to keep them busy while the adults can relax. After breakfast, children under the age of 5 experience a one hour game drive (bumble) to one of the wate rholes with a ranger. In the evenings, on special occasions, the younger children get to have their own, private boma dinner with one of the chefs, allowing them to make their own treats.
GAME DRIVES & WALKING SAFARIS
Tuningi Safari Lodge’s game rangers are highly qualified and have sound knowledge of the fauna and flora within the Madikwe Game Reserve and pass on this knowledge and passion to guests during morning and afternoon/evening game drives and optional walking safaris. Guests will be sure to experience an exclusive luxury safari in the Madikwe Game Reserve.
PHOTOGRAPHIC SAFARI IN MADIKWE GAME RESERVE
A private vehicle can be booked, at an additional cost, for all photographic safari's or for guests who prefers their own private vehicle per day.

Madikwe Game Reserve is one of South Africa's most popular safari destinations and presents many wildlife viewing opportunities. It is home to more than 66 mammal species including the Big Five and more than 350 resident and migrant bird species.
LOCATION & ACCESS
By road: Madikwe Game Reserve is about 4 and a half hours from Johannesburg by road. Road transfers available from any airport to the lodge.
By air: Helicopter transfer directly into Tuningi. Flight transfer or private charter directly into Madikwe airstrip.
