ACCOMMODATION

The Royal Madikwe accommodates a maximum of 14 guests in 5 beautifully appointed suites.

Luxury Suite (Double)

The Luxury Double Suite is situated parallel to a regularly frequented game path on the Royal Madikwe conservancy within Madikwe Game Reserve.

With breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness and mountains, this freestanding suite offers privacy, tranquility and luxury to couples in search of a delightful retreat.

This beautifully appointed suite boasts a king size four poster bed draped in a luxurious mosquito net, en-suite bathroom with indoor / outdoor rain showers and a bathtub with a beautiful wilderness view, a cozy indoor wood fire place and comfortable outdoor seating.

The large private viewing deck encompasses plush sun loungers conveniently placed beside the plunge pool to soak up the Madikwe sunshine all year round!

Luxury Suite (Twin)

Luxury Twin Suites offers the perfect space for friends, older children or couples.

The Twin Suite flaunts lavish extra length ¾ beds draped in luxurious linen, a mosquito net, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor rain showers, bathtub with a beautiful wilderness view, a cozy indoor wood fire place and comfortable outdoor seating. This suite can comfortably be converted into a double for couples.

The large private viewing deck, furnished with plush sun loungers allows you to soak up the sunshine beside your private plunge pool while enjoying the flurry of animals passing by your suite along the game path to the waterhole.

Honeymoon Suite

This romantic retreat is perfectly suited to couples celebrating their honeymoon, an anniversary or simply in search of a special getaway.

Situated directly across from the busiest waterhole in Madikwe, the freestanding Honeymoon Suite offers spectacular views of the waterhole from the privacy of the elevated sun deck.

The Honeymoon Suite is embellished in a remarkable four poster bed draped in luxurious percale linen, a fabulous mosquito net, en-suite bathroom with indoor / outdoor rain showers, bathtub with a beautiful wilderness and waterhole view, a cozy indoor wood fire place and comfortable outdoor seating.

The Emperor Suite

Boasting spectacular views of the Royal waterhole from the elegant sunken lounge, this spacious 2 bedroom suite is conveniently located on the second level of the Clubhouse.

The Emperor suite, in conjunction with its’ adjacent TV lounge and beautifully appointed private dining space is perfectly suited to couples in search of a lavish, spacious suite, a honeymoon retreat, or for families with 2 younger children.

The Emperor master bedroom is indulged in an extra length king size bed enchantingly draped in a luxurious mosquito net, extravagant percale linen and an en-suite bathroom with an open air rain shower and romantic bathtub.

The comfortable sunken lounge divides the additional bathroom, equipped with a rain shower, and the children’s room which is fitted with fun bunk beds.

Royal Villa

This luxurious 2 bedroom family villa offers exclusivity and privacy, perfectly suited to families with 2 – 3 children. When booking the Villa in conjunction with another Suite, a private vehicle for game drives will be included as an added luxury ensuring intimate family safari experiences.

The Royal Villa master bedroom boasts a lavish four poster bed draped in a hand crafted mosquito net, indoor wood fire place, en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor rain showers and a romantic bathtub with exquisite views of both the waterhole and wilderness.

Separated by a dining area and small kitchenette, the second bedroom flaunts sumptuous twin beds draped in luxurious mosquito nets and a large en-suite bathroom with indoor rain shower and an extravagant bathtub.

The Library and TV lounge located on the second level gives way to another viewing deck with perfect waterhole views.

The private viewing deck with plunge pool and a comfortable outdoor seating area is the ideal haven to enjoy the sights and sounds of the African bush.

CUISINE

The main focus of Royal Madikwe is around the personal preferences of the guests with a menu that is flexible, featuring sophisticated, yet wholesome cuisine inspired by Africa’s diverse cultures and cosmopolitan influences.

Breakfast is enjoyed on the lower deck overlooking the watering hole, after an exciting early morning game viewing drive. Afternoon High Tea is enjoyed outside during summer and besides a roaring fire in the winter. Dinnertime is a feast, whether enjoyed formally in the elegant dining room or weather permitting, outside at the Boma with a view of the waterhole.

Royal Madikwe offers a variety of award winning South African wines.

CHILDREN

Royal Madikwe welcomes families with children of all ages. Children are entertained, stimulated and educated with a range of fun activities to ensure they get the most of their safari adventure.

For safety reasons, children under the age of 5 years are not permitted on game drives and children under the age of 16 are not permitted on Bush Walks.

WILDLIFE & BIRDLIFE

Madikwe is a thriving refuge for the most precious sustainable resource in Africa, its flora and fauna. It is home to more than 66 mammal species from small to large, including the sought after Big 5 mammals, the endangered Wild Dog and Cheetah, as well as over 36 bird species recorded.

AIR AND ROAD TRANSFERS TO ROYAL MADIKWE

Shuttle Flights

Royal Madikwe is easily accessed by daily shuttle flights from Johannesburg to Madikwe Game Reserve Western Airstrip. Approximate flight time is 1 hour. Guests will be transferred from the Western Airstrip in an open vehicle to Royal Madikwe at no extra cost (approximately 25 minute drive).

Private Charters

Private Charters can be arranged for a more luxurious experience and includes a meet & greet facility whereby guests will be escorted off international flights through customs/immigration. Flight times are reasonably flexible to suit guests’ requirements.

Road Transfers

Alternatively, a road transfer can be arranged to transfer guests to/from Royal Madikwe. Approximately 5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg or 3 hours from Sun City. Please enquire for transfers from other destinations.
