Madikwe Hills is approximately 4 hours by road from Johannesburg, or about an hour's flight. Besides many other wildlife species, the malaria free Madikwe is home to a wide range of wildlife, including the sought after Big 5 mammals.

ABOUT MADIKWE HILLS PRIVATE GAME LODGE

Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge overlooks the endless bushveld of the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve. Built amongst boulders and age-old Tamboti trees, the lodge offers visitors the utmost in luxury and hospitality, where you will find yourself enchanted by a world of intrigue and majestic beauty.

Ten ultra-luxurious glass-fronted suites complete with their own veranda and private plunge pools are ingeniously placed amongst the boulders. The unusual yet subtle décor integrates natural elements with colours highlighting Africa's ambience.

Along with a warm and friendly atmosphere, Madikwe Hills offers you the highest standards of service and fine cuisine accompanied by a superb selection of wines, or choose your own from the selection in the cellar.

ACCOMMODATION

Luxurious Suites at the Main Safari Lodge and Little Madikwe Hills accommodates a total of 24 guests. Two of the lower 10 Suites from the Main Lodge can be combined with the Private Villa at Little Madikwe forming an exclusive and private camp for small groups and families.

Accommodation Main Safari Lodge:

Ultra-luxurious glass-fronted suites have their own verandah and private plunge pools, positioned amongst boulders and majestic Tamboti trees. Each of the spacious suites has superb views of the bushveld beyond.

Regretfully no children under the age of ten years can be accommodated at the Main Safari Lodge.

Accommodation at Little Madikwe Hills (Family Friendly Camp):

Little Madikwe Hills, is separate from the Main Safari Lodge and is ideal for a complete private breakaway, a family group, corporate breakaway, or a small intimate wedding up to 8 guests. Little Madikwe Hills is a spacious 2-bedroom Private Villa and has its own Landrover and dedicated game ranger, mouth-watering cuisine by a personal chef, as well as a personal butler to take care of your every need!

The villa is ideal for families with children under the age of 10 years, as the Main Camp is not geared for younger children.

WILDLIFE RELATED ACTIVITIES

Due to the unique eco-systems, the birdlife is abundant and the game viewing is spectacular with the Big 5 mammals as main attraction amongst a wide range of mammal species.

Knowledgeable and professional rangers conduct early morning and late afternoon, or evening, game drives in search of Africa’s big game and smaller wildlife.

On Morning Game drives, you may choose to experience a personal glimpse of the African bush on foot. This experience provides exceptional close encounters with the smaller inhabitants of this wilderness.

Accompanied by highly qualified rangers, you will get expert advice during the Photographic Safari, allowing you to capture unforgettable moments on your South African Photographic Safari.

WILDLIFE, BIRDLIFE & NATURE

Madikwe Game Reserve is home not only to the Big Five of Africa (Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and Leopard), but also to a wealth of over 66 mammal species, including the rare African Wild Dog, as well as Cheetah, Eland, Kudu, Giraffe and a range of more than 300 resident and migratory species of birds.

Entrance by road is via the Abjaterskop Gate.
