Sediba Private Game Lodge is set in the Big 5 malaria free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, in the Waterberg, Limpopo Province.
Sediba Private Game Lodge offers superb exclusivity, luxury and a truly unique wildlife experience in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, one of the most accessible premier wilderness reserves near Gauteng.
Guests can look forward to experience friendly hospitality and personal service. Gourmet chefs prepare excellent cuisine with exclusive vintage wines from a well-stocked wine cellar.
The open-plan suites, each with a lounge, double bedroom and en-suite bathroom, open onto private viewing decks overlooking the magnificent Waterberg Mountains.
Sediba is derived from the Northern Sotho and means ‘spring’ or ‘well’.
ACCOMMODATION
Sediba Private Game Lodge consists of two lodges, Letlapa and Letlapala and offers 15 luxury suites.
The lodges are separated by a gravel road and are ten minutes apart from one another, both providing an equal source of wellbeing and complete relaxation.
Letlapa Lodge
Letlapa meaning 'rock' lodge, is situated in a valley with a perennial stream running through it.
Letlapa Lodge consists of ten double suites and is, as a result of the design and sheer size of the suites, the more spectacular of the two lodges.
Letlapala Lodge
Letlapala translated to 'place of the sun', is the more intimate of the two lodges as it has only five double suites and one main lodge.

Every detail in Sediba's unique suites has been carefully selected to create a refined balance of wild luxury. Of its fifteen exclusive suites, one suite is wheelchair friendly.

CHILDREN
Sediba Private Game Lodge welcomes children of 10 years and older.
CUISINE
The chefs at Sediba Private Game Lodge creates scrumptious meals served daily, complemented by high tea in the afternoon.
Meals can be served on the lodge's main decks, the dining rooms inside or at the traditional boma's. Sediba has a unique natural rock Boma located at Letlapa. The impressive structure of solid rock walls combined with spectacular light, smoke and fire effects, provide the illusion of dining in a cave, starlit by the African sky… an experience that is one-of-a-kind to be exclusively enjoyed at Sediba Private Game Lodge.
Private candle lit dinners in the guest's suites or on the terrace can be arranged on special request.
Guests are free to browse through a well-stocked wine cellar or ask one of the chefs to recommend a wine to complement meals.
Both lodges boast well stocked bars with a wide range of local and international drinks, if desired, complemented by a cigar from a fine selection.
ACTIVITIES
Sediba Private Game Lodge offers two exciting game drives daily in open safari vehicles and are conducted by experienced and knowledgeable rangers. The afternoon game drives includes a sundowner stop with drinks and snacks.
Private game drives can be arranged upon request and at extra charge.
WEDDINGS & PRIVATE FUNCTIONS
Letlapala Lodge is the perfect location for intimate weddings, company’s bush breaks, anniversaries or any special celebration.
WELLNESS
Sediba Private Game Lodge has a professional salon for health and beauty treatments. Treatments include aroma-therapy, facials, pedicures and a variety of different massages. Treatments are also possible in the secluded surroundings of your suite.
A fully equipped gym and sauna are available at Letlapa Lodge. Use of the gym and sauna are complimentary.
WILDLIFE, BIRDLIFE & NATURE
Welgevonden is one of the largest privately owned reserves in South Africa and is set in the pristine bushveld of the malaria-free Waterberg region.
The reserve is home to the Big 5 mammals amongst more than 50 other mammal species. It has species seldom seen as well, such as brown hyena, aardwolf and aardvark. The main reason for the wide range of wildlife species and the more than 300 bird species at Welgevonden is the habitat diversity.
Furthermore no private vehicles are permitted, which ensures minimal human impact and the ultimate wilderness experience.
LOCATION & ACCESS
Situated in the Welgevonden Reserve, Sediba Private Game Lodge is an easy scenic drive of approximately 3 hours from Johannesburg.
Sediba has a private helicopter available for guest transfers to and from the lodge. Both Letlapa and Letlapala have a helicopter landing pad on site. Please enquire for the latest information and rates.
Sediba can arrange transfers to and from the lodge by private airplane. The plane lands on an airstrip in the Welgevonden Reserve where the open Land-rovers welcome the guests with cocktails and game snacks. From the airstrip the guests are taken to the lodge.
