Ekuthuleni Lodge, situated in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, a Big 5 and malaria free reserve, offers luxury accommodation and memorable wildlife encounters.

Authentic to African luxury, Ekuthuleni which means ‘Place of Peace’ invites you to a luxurious safari stay complimented by fine dining, exciting game viewing drives and sweeping views of the savannah plains.

Ekuthuleni’s sister lodge, Tshwene Lodge, is situated in close proximity, each lodge being able to accommodate a maximum of ten guests, accommodating a maximum of 20 guests in both lodges.

Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, one of the top wildlife destinations in South Africa, is located near Vaalwater (Mabatlane) in Limpopo Province and is an easy 3 hours by road from Johannesburg.

ACCOMMODATION

Each of the five suites offer complete privacy along with scenic views of the magnificent surrounding bushveld. The romantic bathrooms at each of the chalets open onto a private courtyard featuring both indoor and outdoor showers.

The Family Suite is luxurious and spacious, boasting two bathrooms, a main bedroom and a loft area which accommodates two single beds.

DINING

Scrumptious meals can be enjoyed in the dining room or the open-air deck, sheltered from the elements by a reed awning.

CHILDREN

Children over 6 years of age are welcome at Ekuthuleni Lodge. The lodge and swimming pool are both unfenced and children must be supervised at all times.

ACTIVITIES

Activities includes two daily game viewing drives, conducted by experienced rangers who will provide intimate details of the abundant flora and fauna. Birding is excellent with an abundance of birdlife in the area. In the evenings (weather dependent) guests can enjoy stargazing. Massage treatments area available in the privacy of your suite.

WILDLIFE & BIRDLIFE

Welgevonden Private Game Reserve is one of the largest privately owned game reserves in South Africa, spreading over 40 000 hectares of pristine African bush.

Welgevonden is home to Africa’s "Big 5" – elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino as well as several species of antelope and include zebra, cheetah, brown hyena, aardvark, giraffe, baboon and wild dog. It is a paradise for birding enthusiasts with more than 350 species recorded in the reserve.

Directions to Ekuthuleni Lodge:

Take the N1 north to Pietersburg/Polokwane. At the Kranskop toll gate, keep left to Nylstroom/Marble Hall.

At the T-junction turn left towards Nylstroom/Modimolle and continue straight for approximately 70km to Vaalwater / Mabatlane. Continue through Vaalwater / Mabatlane on the Thabazimbi road for approximately 24km and turn left at the Welgevonden main gate. (Do not turn left at the South gate or East gate).

Private air and charters/transfers:

There are no scheduled road or air transfers/charters to Ekuthuleni Lodge, however can be arranged on request. There are 2 runways and a helicopter landing pad in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve.
