Tangala Safari Camp is situated in Thornybush Private Game Reserve, near Hoedspruit and within the Greater Kruger National Park.
Tangala Safari Camp is an authentic and intimate safari camp, located in Thornybush Private Game Reserve and part of the Greater Kruger National Park.
The setting of the Camp is magnificent with scenic views over the majestic Northern Drakensberg mountain range as a backdrop behind an active waterhole, frequented by a variety of animals and birds.
Guests are offered an unforgettable experience with great hosting, comfortable accommodation and thrilling game drives, including Big 5 game viewing.
ACCOMMODATION
Tangala is a small safari camp, comprising of only 4 chalets and 6 luxury tents, complete with covered patios, twin beds under mosquito nets and en suite bathrooms which include his and her basins, shower and toilet.
Tangala retains its authenticity and closeness to nature and runs “off the grid”, boasting solar power and natural gas to fuel the camp.

THE CAMP
The camp itself is rustic, though comfortable and is an authentic safari camp with an informal and relaxed atmosphere, perfect to unwind and to get in touch with nature.
Public areas include an open plan lounge and dining room, open air deck, swimming pool and viewing lounge, all overlooking the waterhole which is frequented by a variety of animals and birds.
Brunch, high tea and dinner are served and the variety and offering are both tasty and substantial.
CHILD POLICY
Children over the age of 12 years are welcome.
ACTIVITIES
Tangala Safari Camp offers early morning and evening safaris and our guides and expert trackers are there to show you nature at its best, in their natural environment and without interference.
The reserve borders the Greater Kruger National Park and the game viewing and birdlife are abundant with regular big game sightings.
LOCATION
Located in the pristine Thornybush Private Game Reserve, near Hoedspruit in Limpopo Province and part of the Greater Kruger National Park.
Tangala is a mere 5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg. Alternately guests can fly to the nearby Hoedspruit Airport which is a short 30 minutes’ drive from the camp. There are daily flights directly to Hoedspruit Airport from both Johannesburg and Cape Town.
