Mkuze Falls Lodge, located in Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve, is a luxury game lodge in the heart of Zululand, near Pongola, in KwaZulu-Natal.
Situated in northern KwaZulu Natal-Natal near Mozambique, Mkuze Falls Lodge is in the Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve, home to the Big 5 mammals amongst a variety of other wildlife species. It is also a very popular birding destination as a wide variety of bird species occur here due to its ecosystems, proximity to the coast and the tropical climate.
Mkuze Falls Lodge is well known for its luxurious accommodation, friendly hospitality and five star safari experience.
ACCOMMODATION
Mkuze Falls Lodge features eight luxuriously appointed thatched chalets and one Safari Suite, accommodating 18 guests in comfort and style. The chalets and the central lodge complex are built on raised wooden platforms and guests can enjoy spectacular views of the Mkuze Waterfall and breath-taking views of the perennial Mkuze River, bush and mountains.

Each air-conditioned chalet has a private plunge-pool and an outside shower. Guests can expect to experience a true safari in comfort.

SAFARI SUITE
The Safari Suite has its own outside terrace with an exceptional view over the Mkuze River. The Safari Suite is ideal for special occasions and honeymooners. Intimate dinners can be enjoyed on the private viewing deck or in the spacious living area.

CONFERENCES
Conferences at the Mkuze Fall Private Game Reserve are presented at the main lodge. A fully equipped air-conditioned conference room accommodates up to 18 delegates.
WEDDINGS & PRIVATE FUNCTIONS

WILDLIFE, BIRDLIFE & NATURE
The Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve is home to the Big 5 mammals of Africa, numerous species of antelope as well as Cheetah, Hippo, Crocodile, spotted Hyena, and more.
The pristine ecosystems of riverine forest, wetland, savannah bushveld and grassland provide a great diversity for a large number of bird and animal species. Mkuze Falls and its wetlands are an absolute haven for ornithologists and bird-lovers with more than 430 species of birds in the area. The reserve is home to the African Fish Eagle, Giant Kingfisher, Narina Trogon and the spectacular Purple-crested Turaco (Lourie) amongst others.
LOCATION & ACCESS
Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve is situated in KwaZulu Natal, approximately 6 hour’s drive from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and 4½ hour’s drive from King Shaka International Airport (near Ballito and Durban).
Richards Bay (approximately 2 hours’ drive from Mkuze) is the nearest Airport although only for domestic flights.
An airplane landing strip as well as a Heli-Pad is located north of the Mkuze River. Pilot must please advise approximate landing times.
